Todd Willingham murdered my 3 daughters
statement from Stacy Kuykendall, Cameron Todd Willingham’s then wife (1)
RE: “Stacy Kuykendall, the ex-wife of Cameron Todd Willingham, offers her first detailed account of the 1991 fire that claimed the lives of her three daughters and led to Willingham’s execution in 2004.
“Todd set our house on fire then stood outside and watched it burn,” Kuykendall asserts, saying she agrees with Gov. Rick Perry’s portrayal of her husband as “a monster.” “
“Before Todd was executed he confessed to his family that he never went into the twins room at all to try and save them, that he had lied about it. Actually, he stood outside of our home as the house engulfed in flames knowing his three daughters were inside.”
“Todd set our house on fire then stood outside and watched it burn. He knew our three daughters were inside this home taking there last breath. He watched them die.”
“(Reporters) Mills, Possley (of the Chicago Tribune) and Grann (of the New Yorker) have all come to my home uninvited to ask me questions about my ex-husband. I told them all that I no longer believe that Todd was innocent, that he did murder my daughters and I did not want to talk about that which had to deal with him.”
statement from Stacy Kuykendall, then wife to Cameron Todd Willingham and mother to Amber Louise, Karmon Diane and Kameron Marie.

The Chicago Tribune is caught in a lie and keeps on lying:

Wow. I’ve been reading about this case all night. I surely hope we can base death decisions on better evidence than was presented in this case.
Or maybe we just don’t care.
I do not give much credibility to Stacy Kurkendyall. It was already stated by neighbors that she along with Todd was outside the burned home going through the remains, laughing and listening to music. This is not the attitude of a greiving mother, instead of a woman who if a crime was committed more than likely was involved and trying to save her own ass. As for Govenor Perry…PLEASE!!! Move to somewhere else and run your own country. The criminal justice system in Texas is corrupt and run by criminals worse than the offenders they are paid to supervise.

Brian,
I hope so too. I feel the fact that there was doubt as to camerons innocence the 30 day stay by Gov. Perry should have been granted. It’s not so much a fact of pro 0r anti death penalty for me as it is a matter of justice. Once we take a life we can not ever replace or make up for it.
What doubt? Those who oppose the DP always have a doubt no matter how overwhelming the evidence of guilt. The state and federal courts, including the USSC, reviewed and rejected Willingham’s last minute appeals, which included Hurst’s affidavit, had no doubts.
Yet, those who have never reviewed the evidence and are ignorant of the applicable law think they know more. Right.
I am not concerned with the “evidence” in any given case, particularly. Or whether any given individual is guilty or not.
Simply stated, killing people is insane. It does not save money. It does not make you whole or make anyone feel better. It is not ordained by God, and in fact Jesus was executed by the same fear driven and hateful egos that kill today.
We have lost our way. We practice hate. And we employ any means available to justify that fear and hatred. It is a sickness practiced by the spiritually bankrupt who have no capacity to love, to find mercy or compassion.
So you DP advocates go right on ahead. Kill as many as you can. There won’t be any tax refund checks headed your way, you won’t be restored to sanity, and no…the world won’t be a safer place. You will not deter anyone bent on killing. In fact, as murder becomes more and more practiced by individuals and the state, it will become more and more acceptable and ordinary. A world where killing people is normal. What a legacy.
I can sleep tonite. I don’t have to worry about making arguments and rationalizing whether killing people is right or not. A few of you might not. And the state will be more than happy to sell you a little booze, trazadone, or Prozac to help you sleep with your crazy and arcane beliefs that killing anyone makes the world a better place. Those things represent the problem. One day, it may dawn on the conscious, that love, tolerance, and understanding are the solution.
Odd, that we celebrate the execution and resurrection of Jesus this weekend. And what did he say? “Forgive them father, they know not what they do.” And he was right.
Brian, I find it interesting you bring up the fact that the crucifixion of Jesus was wrong. You need to go back and study your Bible a little more as it seems to me you do not understand exactly why Jesus was crucified on the cross. If I remember correctly his father “God” sent him to us in order to die for our sins. Without Jesus making that sacrifice we would have been condemned to Hell. So your religious argument is really irrelevant.
HE COULDNT STAND THE FACT THAT HE WAS A COWARD AND THATS ALL HE WAS GUILTY OF,BECAUSE COWARDS BEAT THEIR WIVES,BUT STACY DIDNT HAVE TO LIE JUST TO KEEP HIM OUT OF HER LIFE,ALL SHE HAD TO DO WAS CONTINUE ON WITHOUT HIM,BUT IT WAS PROVEN HE DID NOT KILL HIS KIDS,SHE DID ,NOW I HOPE SHE CAN LIVE WITH THAT,
RT:
I think you have been led astray by the anti death penalty folks.
There is zero evidence that he did not murder the children.
The evidence keeps stacking up that he did it.
Please read all the Willingham articles, hereto.
